| Tun Mahathir & <b>Siti Nurhaliza</b> “My Way” duet video has gone viral <b>...</b> Posted: 23 Sep 2015 12:53 AM PDT Tun Mahathir & Siti Nurhaliza "My Way" duet video has gone viral (the inside story) – Robert Chaen Read The Malaysian Insider article based on this original inside story: Many people were curious where was Tun Mahathir on 16 September? Would he make an appearance at the red shirt rally, just like he did twice at the yellow shirt Bersih 4 rally? The answer was Tun Mahathir was a little out of Kuala Lumpur at MMU Cyberjaya on the afternoon of 16 September from 3:45 pm to 6:20 pm. How did I know? I was the Emcee-Talkshow Host of the event with Nawar Anisah. Tun was the Keynote Speaker. He was accompanied by his wife, Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah. The event was called "The Journey" organized by Generasi Bersatu Malaysia, in partnership with ChangeU and Bounce Back Malaysia, a national CSR initiative. There two other speakers who shared their inspiring journeys were the iconic Dato' Siti Nurhaliza and Datuk Kamarudin Meranun, the Executive Chairman of AirAsia and Forbes #31 richest Malaysian. And then the awesome magic happened! Tun Mahathir sang Frank Sinatra's "My Way", with a duet with Siti Nurhaliza. The audience was spell bound as almost all the audience had never heard Tun Mahathir sing live on stage! Earlier, Tun Mahathir had shared his life journey especially his early doctor days in Kedah – without any notes. When it came to the questions and answers section I asked Tun many uncommon personal questions. One question I gently asked how did Tun dated his wife Tun Dr. Siti Hasmah? He said there were only 6 Malay students at the King Edward VII College of Medicine in Singapore (now part of National University of Singapore). Siti Hasmah was the only female fellow medical student. Tun beat the other 4 male Malay students to win her heart. How did Tun do that I asked, and what was his greatest romantic gesture? He said he carried her books! The audience was in fits of laughter with Tun's quick wit. His cuteness was so appealing to see a soft innocent side of Tun which we normally don't get to see. Another question I asked was "Which 3 leaders are you most inspired by?" Mahathir answered: "I admire a leader who can change his people to good people. I admire The Prophet of Islam. He changed his people from jahiliyah to good people. Second, Peter the Great from Russia. He is Tzar. He changed his barbaric people to modern nation. I also have great admiration for Nelson Mandela from South Africa. He was imprisoned for 26 years, but he had motivated his people to fight for him." Then Tun answered questions from the audience, posted @Twitter. I wanted a magical moment from Tun Mahathir – I wanted Tun to thrill the audience with some songs. So I quietly set it up with Eric Seo, the pianist and lyrics ready by the AV team. I planted my last "audience" Twitter question which was a song request for Tun to sing. He agreed! I gently persuaded Tun to sing "Imagine" as it is the most powerful peace song of all time by John Lennon. I had also seen President Bill Clinton sing Imagine. However, Tun was not too comfortable with the song. I switched and asked him to just read the lyrics as the words are very meaningful. Suddenly, Siti Nurhaliza and Asyraf Khalid, the Co-Founder of Generasi Bersatu Malaysia came on stage and persuaded Tun to sing "My Way". It was my second song for Tun to sing, and then the awesome magic happened. The audience was blown away as the 90-year old ex-Prime Minister hit the notes. The crescendo was a very cute moment when Tun couldn't quite hit the very high note, the last 2 words "my way" right at the end. Bagaimanapun, tidak tercapai akal kami bahawa ada individu yang sanggup menyifatkan kejadian tersebut terjadi kerana muzik itu haram. BACA: Dato' Siti Nurhaliza Akui Kandungan Alami Keguguran  Bagaimanapun perkara itu membuatkan beberapa pengguna laman sosial yang lain kurang senang dengan kenyataan di akaun Twitter terbabit yang dilihat menghukum dan menilai persis Tuhan. Terpulanglah mahu jadi apa. Laman sosial ini wujudnya memang untuk tunjukkan kebaikan diri masing-masing agaknya.  Sehingga artikel ini ditulis, belum ada kenyataan balas daripada Siti Nurhaliza ini lagi mengenai perkara berkenaan. Rata-rata peminat penyanyi tersohor ini meluahkan rasa simpati di laman Instagram beliau selain diiringi kata-kata semangat. Menurut Siti, kandungannya itu hanya sempat bersamanya untuk dua (2) bulan sahaja sebelum mengalami keguguran.
